The mission of Lay Speaking Ministries is:

...to equip God's people to do His work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

 Lay Speaking Ministries provides training for laity to equip them to be leaders in mission and ministry in the local church and community.  Each of us is gifted by the Holy Spirit to be a servant in God's kingdom.  Lay Speaking Ministries helps us discover our gift or gifts through educational opportunities that will enhance our gifts and build our skills to enable us to be effective leaders in our church.  Through Lay Speaking Ministries, we can become better disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Conference Director of Lay Speaking Ministries
Jackie Jenkins has been named conference director of Lay Speaking Ministries by Rev. Willie Teague, conference director of connectional ministries and Dr. Joe Heyward, conference lay leader.  Jackie has served as district director of Lay Speaking Ministries in the Walterboro district.

Anderson Names New Director
Susan Leonard-Ray, the Anderson District superintendent announces the appointment of Millie Schaller as director of Lay Speaking Ministries.  Millie replaces Rubielee Addison who has retired.  Thanks are extended to Rubielee for her service and dedication to Lay Speaking Ministries.

Rock Hill District Has New Directors
Rock Hill district superintendent Sarah White has announced the appointment of Lee Thornton and Anna Feagin as co-directors of Lay Speaking Ministries. Lee and Anna replace Eunice White who moved out of the district.  We want to thank Eunice for her service to Lay Speaking Ministries.
