The mission of Lay Speaking Ministries is:

...to equip God's people to do His work and build up the church, the body of Christ.
 Ephesians 4:11-12

 Lay Speaking Ministries provides training for laity to equip them to be leaders in mission and ministry in the local church and community.  Each of us is gifted by the Holy Spirit to be a servant in God's kingdom.  Lay Speaking Ministries helps us discover our gift or gifts through educational opportunities that will enhance our gifts and build our skills to enable us to be effective leaders in our church.  Through Lay Speaking Ministries, we can become better disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

The Rock Hill district welcomes Eunice White as the new district director of Lay Speaking Ministries.  Eunice replaces Cora Campbell who was recently commissioned as a local pastor.  We want to thank Cora for her many years of service to Lay Speaking Ministries in the Rock Hill district and the South Carolina Conference.

The Orangeburg district is pleased to announce the appointment of Sheila Shanklin of Gaston as the new director of Lay Speaking Ministries.  Sheila replaces Gregg Riley who has served faithfully for many years.  We thank Gregg for his service to the church.
