The mission of Lay Speaking Ministries is:

...to equip God's people to do His work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

 Lay Speaking Ministries provides training for laity to equip them to be leaders in mission and ministry in the local church and community.  Each of us is gifted by the Holy Spirit to be a servant in God's kingdom.  Lay Speaking Ministries helps us discover our gift or gifts through educational opportunities that will enhance our gifts and build our skills to enable us to be effective leaders in our church.  Through Lay Speaking Ministries, we can become better disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.  

NEWS

A certified lay speaker will be selected to deliver the keynote address at the Laity Luncheon during the 2010 Annual Conference in Florence.  The competition is open to all certified lay speakers.  The theme for the address will be "For the Least of These". The message should not exceed 15-20 minutes. Applicants should submit a full manuscript to their district director by February 1, 2010.  The district director, along with the district lay leader, will select three to be sent to the conference selection committee by March 1, 2010.  The conference selection committee will review the manuscripts and invite five toby February 1, 2010. The SEJ Association of Directors of Lay Speaking Ministries will offer training for conference and district directors of Lay Speaking Ministries and an instructor certification program.  In addition, the Basic course and two advanced courses will be offered,  Details will be announced shortly.  Please reserve these dates.
