Michael Cheatham is a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Greer, SC.  He has been a lay speaker since 1988 and has served as director for the Greenville district.  He is the  President of the Southeastern Jurisdiction Association of Directors of Lay Speaking Ministries, and also serves on the executive committee of the Association of Conference Directors of Lay Speaking Ministries as chair of the communications committee and is the web servant for the association website, www.layspeakingministries.org.  He is a delegate to the 2008 Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference and was a delegate to the 2004 General Conference.  He also serves as the associate district lay leader for the Greenville district.
